At MacCormick, we believe the future of knowledge will require the ability to harness relevant data with specific content expertise. MacCormick is poised as veteran social performance experts in the mining, oil and gas sectors.

Sustainable, responsible and impact investing (SRI) is an investment discipline that considers environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) criteria to generate long-term competitive financial returns and positive societal impact.

MacCormick essentially puts the “S” in ESG for the mining, oil and gas sectors, which under current ESG criteria does not exist.  We offer a unique perspective and insight which is not available anywhere else in the world. All our services are either building the tools and systems to support social performance or are evaluating them.

The Social Performance Index (SPI) solution is designed to help meet the growing demand for responsible impact investing by public and institutional investors.

  • For the ESG data market, the MacCormick SPI will be available by subscription to content and by custom data solutions, tailored to client requirements.
  • The SPI content will also be helpful for risk underwriters, mine permitting, benchmarking best practice, third-party validation, due diligence and can be customized per client project.
  • For mining and oil and gas clients, our enhanced tools can help to perform social management diagnostics, gap analysis, and enhance your social performance reporting and provide third-party evaluations.

Sustainable, responsible and impact investing (SRI) is an investment discipline that considers environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) criteria to generate long-term competitive financial returns and positive societal impact.

The MacCormick SPI measures the social performance of mining companies against international best practice in relation to their financial performance.

The Social Performance Index (SPI) is a unique perspective and data set, like no other in the world.

We have been harvesting and measuring social performance data on mining companies in relation to their financial performance for the last five years. This SPI content will be available by subscription and bespoke custom analysis and reports.

The first edition of the Social Performance Index (SPI), SPI v1.0, will boast access to insight derived from the evaluation of more than 600 publicly listed mining companies. In the first edition, there will be 10 social performance indicators (leading up to 150). There will be approximately 2,400 data points and 5 year’s historical content on the social performance data for each of these companies in relation to their financial performance.

The SPI v1.0 is estimated to be released Q3 2017.
